CNOOC Limited Launches Oilfields Project in South China Sea

Panyu oilfields to achieve peak production of 13,600 barrels per day in 2025

CNOOC Limited has commenced production at its Panyu 11-12 and 10-1 oilfields, along with the Panyu 10-2 adjustment joint development project, located in the eastern South China Sea.

The project features a new wellhead platform, an unmanned wellhead platform, and plans for 15 development wells. These facilities are expected to collectively achieve peak production of approximately 13,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2025.

Notably, the unmanned wellhead platform incorporates a “typhoon production mode” and a heavy oil intelligent processing system, enhancing safety and efficiency. The new platform is connected to the existing Panyu 10-2 platform via a trestle bridge, enabling the sharing of resources and reducing development costs.

Since production began in 2003, the Panyu oilfield has yielded over 380 million barrels of crude oil. Today, it stands as a digitally integrated and intelligent oilfield cluster, showcasing cutting-edge advancements in unmanned operations.

CNOOC Limited holds a 100% operated interest in this project, reinforcing its role as a leader in offshore oilfield development.
