Uganda’s UNOC CEO Proscovia Nabbanja to Spotlight Oil Investment Opportunities at AEW 2025

Nabbanja will showcase Uganda’s Lake Albert project and EACOP pipeline at African Energy Week 2025 in Cape Town

According to a recent article in the African Energy Chamber, Proscovia Nabbanja, CEO of the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), will be a featured speaker at African Energy Week (AEW) 2025: Invest in African Energies, taking place in Cape Town. Nabbanja will highlight Uganda’s expanding oil and gas landscape, particularly the strategic potential of the Lake Albert Development Project and the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).

With first oil expected by the end of 2025 and an estimated 1.4 billion barrels of recoverable reserves, Uganda is positioning itself as a key player in East Africa’s energy sector. EACOP – a 1,443-km heated pipeline linking Uganda to Tanzania’s Port of Tanga – remains a pivotal infrastructure project, despite recent financing delays.

Nabbanja’s participation at AEW 2025 will shed light on investment opportunities across the entire value chain, including upstream development, pipeline construction, domestic refining, and local capacity building. UNOC is actively pursuing strategic and financial partnerships to unlock Uganda’s energy potential and drive long-term growth.
